What should i do, having been so vain?

I should really grow up, since I've turned 17 TODAY. I'm sorry daddy, for snapping on you for something so, trivial. Speaking of which, thank you to
1) Eudora
2)Amanda
3)Eileen
4) Stephenie Yong Yam Sing AKA Nerd AKA the one with the magical mole <3
for actually remembering my birthday and giving me a wish on this day, I love you guys. I know lar I kinda deserve it, people not remembering my birthday cause I rarely remembered other's punya, but it still kinda pierced. I guess this is one of the so called benefits of facebook huh, just put on status and have all your 'friends' wish you.

Oh well. I still had a nice birthday though. Lunch at Little Italy, and then go to Suria for some shopping, though the only thing I got is this...............................

an 'M' pendant. And this...................

The purity ring !

OMG, u'll never guess how this came about. So we went to Suria and my mum immediately went to Lazo Diamond. Then this happened.

Mum Me

I'm getting you a purity ring.
Huh, But why?
Because being 17 is a rite  into adulthood and I want to buy you something for the occasion
Fine, but a purity ring? My face already enough to scare off guys mum, don't worry.
Don't say that, later God marah.
OK, I'm sorry God. Happy? But I don't need a purity ring! That' s what Disney stars get to gain more acceptance and fans.
Mirabel, it's biblical.
It is?!
Yes, now stop arguing, I'm paying anyway.

Mum Me Sales guy

This ring can less kah?
Sorry, best price oredi miss (dey always say that don't they?)
Mummy, I can't believe your bargaining when buying something to symbolise my purity!
If you buy another item, can less 50%.
Wei, you want a pendant?
Whateves lar

Till now, I don't see the point of a purity ring. But I guess it still makes a great accessory, no? My life's weird.

Another pic, just for vainness. If you think I'm ugly, so be it !!!!!!!!

P/S: I'M THINKING OF GOING INTO HIATUS, BUSY BEING ME....

Saturday 13 March 2010

Your mom's like Limewire, she's free and all, but she'll give you a virus

me mum

Why don't I just become a teacher? Easy only bah.
Better don't, later you'll kill everyone's child!
Darn

Lend me one more chance, we can still have it all

Bakat Convent's a wrap!!!! Stressful pun stressful juga lar, but it was good, very good.... I love your performance Bev, must go Bakat Interact this year k, can redeem ourselves from last year that! MC-ing duty with Vusak was a blast, it reminds me why I love talking to a crowd so much, The reaction you received is priceless, and the adrenaline rush gets to you.

And to all the participants who are so anxious about the results, you guys did your best and you really entertained the school so you should be happy about that, regardless of the results later :)

Speaking of results, this week has been a really eventful week for our seniors, no? Actually right, some of us were assigned by teacher Saw to key in all the student's SPM result so we had the "front row seats" to see the results. I have to say that although this year we were not so good, but we have done our best.

God that sounds fake. I dunno what else to say though, my time is coming soon, so maybe I'll take back these words then. SPM IS IN 7 MONTHS!!!! Decision Day (D-Day)? Approximately a year from now. I'm honestly scared. The 5A in UPSR, 7A in PMR and no. 1 in Form 4 means nothing now. To think that I was celebrating my heart out when I got those results, haizzz....

And during Literature, teacher Sim told us this story. There's this one mum who came to take her son's results and when she saw it, she broke down in tears. You see, he was diagnosed with cancer about two years ago and by the time SPM came around, it was terminal. He sat for 9 papers, and he wanted to push for a 10, which was Chinese, but he couldn't, because he was already broken down by the disease. He died a few days later.

And btw, his results? 9 A's! He could have gotten 10 A's. It was the fighting spirit he showed that got to me. As students, we have a responsibility, and that is to be the best that we can be and show our parents the money, time and energy spent on us for an education is worth it and I see a lot of people taking things for granted, me included.

Now, I want this more than anything, and I'm gonna prove that I will fulfill my responsibility. Straight A+, I'm coming to get you!

P/S: I hate when people judge a person based on which school they go to. Stereotype is prejudice, and prejudice is not COOL!

Sunday 7 March 2010

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception

After church, i decided to go for a personality test thingy to determine which career path which is best suited for me. It was okay I guess, 160 questions, yes or no answers, simple enough right? But not all wanted to take it.

guy guy's father

ah, this one good for you. why don't you take this personality test?
what for?! I know my personality good already!
-loser-

Anyways, the results were analysed. And guess what? Apparently I'm highly suitable for a career in biology-related field (as in medical, biochem, all those nonsense) and also Law. Thanks for telling me something I already know. But from the results kan, the person yang conducted the test can tell that I love Biology and Chemistry, loathe Physics, good public speaker and debater, have very good leadership qualities(ehem!) and many more qualities which I thought were quite accurate. Apa ni, hidung kembang sudah. Oh but then again, she also mention that from the test, I should be an analytical, systematic and person. Yeaaaaaah, sure.

But it opened up my eyes also lar, cause I know I'm on the right path. But you know what, my dad kinda questioned my abilities to be a doctor. Darn.

me mum dad

Bang, guess what?Si Mirabel kinda can officially be a doctor or a lawyer.
*disinterested* Oh.
Yeah, so you think your daughter can be a good doctor kah?
Actually kan, I think you better be a lawyer lar. Doctors must be kind, compassionate people you know.
So bad. Mummmmmmy!!!!
Robin, can bah your daughter dat.
yeah bah. I'm sorry lar, people who are kind and compassionate should be a social worker, not a doctor.
You see, your daughter very keras hati, she won't care that if people's lives are at her hands or if she sees people die. Ngam dat her, at least we can be assured she won't quit her course halfway.
Gee mum, thanks a lot.

P/S: Does being excited to retake the test that I've miss makes me weird? Nevermind, don't answer the question.

Thursday 4 March 2010

i guess this means it's over huh?

Yes, the journey for the debate team ended in the 3rd round when we lost to All Saints, and no, i did not cry like i thought i would when i wrote the previous blogpost. I was proud of the team and all, we really stepped up our game this year. No more embarassing losses and we really gave it our all. Our journey was not easy, teacher not being able to supervise for one whole week, multiple and last minute changes on scripts, self doubt and lots more. But we gained more than we lose, which is the experience that we get :) Apa ni, emo sudah kah?!

No lar, but All Saints really deserved it, they were good. Haha, mooting's next? BTW Landy, Emeh and Nerd, we all debate kick their ass already, kamu punya turn next month :P

Can't wait to see the finals 2moro, Lok Yuk and All Saints, AGAIN!!! Well, it beats sitting for the test, how the hell can people remember the process of blood clotting anyway?! haha, gud luck with the test though, I think most will need it, I MEAN.... Whatchu talking about?!

P/S: All is not lost though, Tchr Tok will still be wearing a blond extension in school for one whole day! Can't wait for that moment man, a square will be corrupted and and be un-NERD-ified. Thank God we all sampai 3rd round!!!
